QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
This safari takes you to queen Elizabeth National Park. This park
has one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any game park or
reserve in the world. From savannah strips to thick rain forests,
swamps and crater lakes to the Lake Edward.
Almost 100 mammal species that include Lions and Buffaloes. You
get a chance to see many fascinating things like lions climbing
trees, the Uganda kob and other antelopes, elephants, buffalos,
hippos and even baboons. This is one of the best areas for bird
watching, with over 500 species of birds reported to be inhabiting
this area.
DAY 1
Early morning at your Hotel. You will be picked up and driven to
Mbarara through Masaka along Masaka road. Just this journey has
alot for you to see and you stop along the way to witness some of
the largest banana plantation farms. You will also make stops at
Mpambire to see the Royal Drum Makers at their craft. You will be
taken to the pint where the northern and southern hemispheres of
the world separate with each other. Stand over the equator line
take photographs. You will arrive in Mbarara for lunch. Get to see
the western arm of the great East African rift valley. Your guide
will later take you on brief game stops. You will later retire to
Mweya Safari Lodge or the Jacana Safari Lodge.
DAY
2
Early morning regroup at the lodge. Prepare to take an early morning
game drive through the national park with your guides on spacious
4 wheel drive vehicles. You will return to the lodge to have breakfast
and then go back for more adventure. You will take a boat cruise
on the Kazinga Channel that connects the lakes Edward and George.
Here you will get to see many different species of animals and birds.
You will later retire back to your lodge in the evening. Overnight
in Mweya Safari Lodge or the Jacana Safari Lodge.
DAY 3
Early morning regroup at the lodge. Briefing by the guides before
an early morning departure for the Maramagambo forest. This is a
tropical rain forest where you will get the chance to see chimpazees
and other primates. You get to visit the bat cave and and visit
the Blue lake. You will later leave for Kampala stopping over in
Mbarara where you will have lunch. Expect to arrive early in the
evening. Retire to your Hotel for the night.
